Baked Goodness

Thursday, 28. January 2010 2:23

Last night’s dinner was a very filling and complete affair: baked chicken, mashed potatoes, baked biscuits, and green beans. You could easily describe it as the “Homemade Meal, American Style”, considering all of the ingredients had to be made, cooked, or prepared to come extent — but most of which weren’t really fresh. The chicken was slow cooked for a good portion of the day. When it was done, we put its juices over the range, and thickened it into a delicious gravy. Stretched with some chicken broth, and seasoned with salt and pepper, it came out quite tasty. The mashed potatoes were a buttery blend, made on the stove, from pre-packaged materials. Not as good as fresh, but still yummy. The biscuits were by Pillsbury, which I find to be just as good as home-baked bread, without spending a whole day doing it. The green beans were frozen and heated up in the microwave… in this case, I do much prefer fresh from the farmer’s market. All in all, it was a great, filling meal.

Comes Naturally

Tuesday, 26. January 2010 16:51

Playing with a dog is a pretty natural for most people. It was Teckle type of dog. It constitute autonomous breed of short legged. It color is black and light brown near to eyes. And it looks so cute and very shine. It just 2 years old. It name is Jovi. It understands what I said like, go, lie down, pick the ball, etc. It likes to play fetch. Some breeds of dogs generally enjoy fetching more than others. Find an open space and throw a tennis ball or a Frisbee, and hope that Rover will bring it back. Blow children’s soap bubbles for your dog. Many dogs love to chase the bubbles, jump and “catch” them in mid-air. Taking care of dog is very important. Do not use household objects like old shoes, bungee cards, or belt as toys. Limit the number of toys your dog has to a few favorites. Dogs don’t require 10 different toys to stay interested and often focus on one or two. Having more toys often /confuses dogs as to what is a toy and what is not a toy. Heavy rubber such as Kong brand is excellent for chewers. But keep them away from their orthopedic dog beds or they might start chewing the bed too! Putting treats or peanut butter inside them can really keep a dog occupied for hours. Weakly once keep the dog into bath is very important.

MP3

Monday, 25. January 2010 23:23

This refers to MPEG audio layer3. It is used to compress audio signals. It compresses audio by using following techniques. MP3 divides the audio frequency spectrum in to 576 to different frequency bands. Then it compress each band independently using three coding schemes namely layer1, layer2 and layer3. Normally the human ear is good at hearing mid range frequency sounds. So mp3 records only the mid range frequencies and drops all other ranges. So the audio sound is compressed. If a sound frequency is identical in different channels, it stores only one copy.

My Titanic Obsession!

Thursday, 21. January 2010 14:22

I was in college when I first saw Titanic. Needless to say, I was simply blown away. It was unlike any movie I’d seen before (or since). A wonderfully written heart-warming love story, extraordinary performances by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, painstaking attention to period detail, great music, breathtaking special effects and perfect, perfect direction by that genius, James Cameron, left me spellbound. I went back the next week to see it again, and again, and again…Everything about that movie is just pure magic, it is one of those rarest of gems, a cinematic masterpiece. Movies come and movies go, but my love, nay obsession for Titanic, will go on…

A Weekend With The Grandparents

Monday, 18. January 2010 8:21

This weekend my wife and I got a visit from her grandparents. Three years ago we moved across country, meaning that her grandparents were no longer an eight hour drive from our house; they were an eight hour flight. Obviously, visiting them has been very difficult and we haven’t been able to see them as much as we’d like. However, this weekend they came to us. For their anniversary they decided to go on a cross-country road trip. On their trip they have visited friends and family in four states, with two more stops planned along the way. We never spend time with them without playing a game of some sort, and this weekend was no exception. In fact, it seemed like we were trying to make up for lost time. We played games for hours on end. But, as is always the case, time flies when you’re having fun. All too soon the weekend was over and the grandparents were heading on to their next destination. Three years was too long of a wait to see them, I hope it won’t be that long next time.

Not The Same Old Chicken

Fried Chicken - breasts. I used Drake's Cripsy...
Image via Wikipedia

We had some bone-in chicken breasts and a package of Oven Fry coating mix, so I decided to make spicy oven fried chicken. I started by taking the skin off the chicken and throwing some beer on them, which I got from the keg refrigerator. I then sprinkled a decent amount of Tabasco sauce on each piece and rubbed it in. I allowed the chicken and Tabasco to marinate in the refrigerator for half an hour. I then coated the chicken and baked in a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes. It came out crispy on the outside, but juicy and spicy on the inside. We were sorry we couldn’t eat the bones, too.

I enjoy pouring out my thoughts

Friday, 8. January 2010 3:18

Strictly speaking, with my ever busy schedule, I hardly have any spare time for myself. Sometimes, I get so bugged doing the same types of work again and again (I do not deny that I love doing them) that I fervently wish to go to a far away island, be myself and listen to my old favorite music in the midst of nature. Presuming that I do get some spare time, I enjoy free lance writing for the newspapers or other periodicals. I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper and let me not deny that I experience great pleasure seeing my name getting printed. I do not believe in pen names.
