On the Subject of Doggie Dress-up Time

Sunday, 7. February 2010 8:55

Why do people insist on dressing up their dogs in gaudy sweaters and hideous costumes? I mean, come on. There is no way that the dogs actually like this and for breeds there is a lack of good reason to dress them up at all. Hairless dogs may need sweaters when it gets cold, but other dogs just don’t. Every time I see a picture of a dog wearing dog clothes, I wonder if it’s miserable. Some of them look quite annoyed. As if dressing them up wasn’t bad enough, some people have the gall to put the poor things in baby clothes instead of proper dog clothes. Don’t they know that those clothes are designed for human babies and can impede their dog’s movement, not to mention how uncomfortable they must be? Seriously, they’re dogs. They shouldn’t be treated like babies or dress-up dolls.

Avatar (2009 film)
Image via Wikipedia

This past week I went with my girlfriend to see the movie Avatar by James Cameron. This movie was awesome! Not only was the movie amazing, but an added bonus was we saw it in 3D! (for an extra 10 dollars of course). The special effects were mind blowing and the plot was very creative. I heard Cameron was working on the movie for more than 12 years. You can tell he and his crew put a great deal of effort into making the historic film. It is my hope that Avatar 2 will come out within the next few years because I would love to hear the rest of the story!

Right from the very beginning

I have been a voracious reader and one of my all time favorite books is Dale Carnegie’s, How to stop worrying and start living. This book is my Bible and whenever I feel surrounded by pressures at work or depression at home, I just pick it up and start going through it. Without fail, this book makes me see the positive side of things and makes me realize, is it really worth worrying about? According to the author, nothing in this world is worth worrying, because any situation that you place yourself in, think, what would happen if the scenario turns as bad as this? (Think the worst possible scenario). You would realize, the world won’t come to an end, you can start afresh and things would look bright within no time. This is so true and that’s the reason I survive on this book.
