My favorite game to play as a kid was monopoly

Tuesday, 29. March 2011 16:49

Though, it is notorious for being a lengthy and painful ordeal, my mother always compared it to giving birth, I enjoyed it. I played it mostly with my friends when we would sleep over each other’s houses.  It enticed me so much because we could converse and talk during the game, due to its slower pace. Also I enjoyed the aspect of luck being equally as important as skill. As the end game drew near, the jockeying for position was as much determined by the roll of the dice and shrewd negotiation.

Happy Birthday to my Puppy

Saturday, 26. March 2011 15:33

Every year for my dog’s birthday I buy her something special. This week she turns 5. I can’t believe how long it’s been. So far I have bought her numerous toys, one year I found this dog treat birthday card, (She loved it) she gets treats, I bought her clothes (This did not go so well – apparently my dog does not like to be dressed up at all) and last year I bought her 2 large memory foam dog beds. She likes to use her bed to hide her treats in when she’s not ready to eat them. This year for her birthday, I am not quite sure what to get her. I have been contemplating a new leash and collar. She has had the same one since I first got her. Wish me luck!

The Da Vinci Code was a book that changed my life

Catholic Church in Huambo

Image via Wikipedia

Despite the fact that the book tells a compelling story and has a narrative that rivals a movie script, it brought a stark realization about my faith. At the time I was a practicing Catholic. After reading the book I understood that the material is in all likely hood fiction, but for the first time the Catholic Church was demeaned in my mind. The church could be compared to any corporation, for its secret dealings, determination to cover up a harmful truth (for the sake of the story), and harm coming to a product their selling, Catholicism. As a result I researched thoroughly the views of the catholic church and came to the realization that I did not agree with most of them, and nor would I accept their views in blind faith.

I would prefer to watch a sitcom

Tuesday, 22. March 2011 16:47

First when I watch Television I prefer to watch comedy so I can relax. The sitcom also I find to be a dying breed in TV specifically primetime.  I would probably search around for an episode of Seinfeld as the humor in it, I find hilarious. The way that the characters’ stories drive a humorous theme for the episode is refreshing. Also the possibility but never guarantee that characters plot will intertwine is interesting as the episode draws to a close. The finality is that the characters never develop a change in their character. Too many shows exhibit a continuing evolution of character which makes individual episodes out of continuity difficult to watch.
